Due to the hide markets need to have timeous prices before the publication of the Agri Trends, the team will send out the weekly hide prices individually.
The average hide price over the past week was 1.7% lower at R12.50/kg green. The hide market is currently under pressure. Prices are anticipated to remain stable, any major trend shifts may occur after the Leather Trade Fair is hosted from 8-10 October 2017 in Milan, Italy. Prices will take direction after that fair.
