The Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Mr. Senzeni Zokwana met with a delegation of the SA Poultry Association (SAPA) to discuss the amendments to the Poultry Meat Regulations regarding Control over the Sale on Friday, 23 October 2015.
The discussion follows a request from SAPA to meet with the Minister to clarify certain points about the Poultry Meat Regulation Amendment. The Minister instructed the technical teams of the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (DAFF) and SAPA to, within the next two weeks, meet and discuss issues and concerns raised by SAPA.
Subsequent to the meeting between DAFF and SAPA, the Poultry Meat Regulation Amendment will be published.
The Minister is intent on finalising the regulations as a matter of urgency.
